About Us

Townend Squash Club, founded in 1979 and proudly based in Dreghorn, North Ayrshire, is home to a thriving community of more than 80 active members.

Competitive Teams

Townend represents Ayrshire in the West of Scotland Leagues, fielding teams across three divisions. Our first team will compete in Division 1 next season, with our other teams pushing for promotion in Divisions 3 and 5.

Volunteer-Run Club

We are the only dedicated squash club in Ayrshire and operate as a volunteer-run, not-for-profit facility focused on growing the game and supporting our members.

Top Talent & Club Heritage

Townend has long been home to top talent, including Scottish internationals Stuart Crawford and Greg Lobban, as well as seven Scottish Masters players.

Membership Pricing

Membership is paid monthly. Pay-to-play is not supported. All memberships include unlimited court time per month.

Adult — £25 per month Includes all family members living at the same address.
Senior — £18 per month For ages 60 and over. Includes all family members living at the same address.
Junior — £5 per month One person under 19.

Townend Promoted to Division 1

Townend have secured promotion into Division 1 of the West of Scotland Squash Leagues after a superb 2025/26 campaign.

Courts Refurbished

The courts have now been refurbished. Members also refurbished the court viewing areas and bathrooms, and everywhere is now adorned in our club navy and white colour scheme.

Townend Raises £3,570.90 for Ayrshire Hospice

Townend Squash Club raised £3,570.90, plus £615 in Gift Aid, for the Ayrshire Hospice during the 2026 24 Hour Charity Squash-Athon.

The event brought together members, supporters, coaches and guests for 24 continuous hours of squash in support of an important local cause.

Townend welcomed Scottish internationalists John Meehan and Andrew Glen for a coaching clinic, followed by an exhibition match.

Members had the opportunity to learn from two elite players before watching them showcase top-level squash on court.

The West of Scotland Senior Closed Championships makes its return in 2026, with Townend Squash Club selected to host the Scottish Squash-sanctioned regional competition.

The championships will bring leading players from across the West of Scotland to Townend for a major weekend of competitive squash.
